As we near the end of the summer and the third quarter, I have one simple reminder for everyone. Life happens.
There is no way of avoiding it. You have to prioritize and put things on hold sometimes (even if you don’t want to).
I had one goal this year and that was to pass the CPA exam and get licensed. Not even close to that happening.
Life and family needs got in the way. I had no choice but to put studying on hold because I just couldn’t fit the time in – I was barely sleeping and couldn’t focus on much of anything.
Not to mention I was covering for someone at work on maternity leave and doing about 85% of her daily duties on top of my own.
Let this be known: there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I think (I hope) I have finally made it to the other side.
I’ve been able to study all week; started working on NINJA MCQs and I’m not doing horrible. I’ve got one legal pad I’m copying [A71 product=”notes”]NINJA Notes to and another for notes on my MCQs.
The margins of my book are littered with notes because I’m making sure I get it right this time. My goal is for October 1st for my retake of REG – completely doable.
I carry my legal pads and my tablet with NINJA Notes on it everywhere I go. I take those 5 minutes waiting in line to get a page of notes read. Every little bit helps and it’s my turn to get this CPA exam behind me.
Life is a series of doors and you have to choose the one you want to go through. This time – I’m going through the door of Prometric to pass this exam!!
