North Dakota CPA Exam Education Requirements
Education Requirement for Licensure: 150 hours (including B.A.)
Participates in International Examination Program: Yes
Hours in accounting: 24 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in accounting courses (principles of accounting or equivalent courses do not count toward the required accounting)
Exam sitting requirements: Must be within six months of completing education requirement
Experience requirements: 1 year of experience gained through employment in government, industry, academia or public accounting.
Ethics exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam for initial licensure
To become a CPA in ND requires:
- Good moral character
- Passage of the Uniform CPA Examination, according to Board regulations and policies
- Completion of the Professional Ethics: The AICPA’s Comprehensive Course (as of February 3, 2003)
- Experience: One year of experience meeting relevant conditions (after December 31, 2000)
- Providing details of other accounting credentials
- Payment of applicable fees
