Hey NINJAs.
I am officially T minus 9 days until my third attempt at REG. I am feeling very anxious about the upcoming exam. A lot is riding on me passing this section.
Over the last several months I have been going through my review material in great detail. I literally do not move on from a topic until I am have a cumulative 80% correct answer ratio in the online test bank.
After reading the chapter, I spend time taking notes, doing practice questions, and more practice questions. When I miss a question I have been going back to my Wiley book to see where the shortfall in my understanding occurred.
I have literally been in drill and kill mode on the questions. Once I have attained that 80% correct answer rate I move onto the next topic. I can honestly say I have spent way too much time on the tax topics. This is because I have fallen way short on these topics on my previous attempts at REG. I wish the tax topics were as easy for me as the business law portion.
Since my last post I have started a new job at a public accounting firm. Things have been rather busy, but I know that busy season is just starting. I actually just went through report issuance on a client that I worked cradle to grave on.
I was feeling really stressed about getting the report out. However at the end of every workday, I still sit down and study. I spend 1.5-2.5 hours every evening going through my review materials and really trying to nail down every detail between the covers of my Wiley book.
Because this is my 3rd attempt at REG, I found that the material was largely familiar, however, there were a ton of details that I did not have a full grasp on for my previous attempt. I can honestly say that I never even heard of bonus depreciation before this round of studying for REG. I feel pretty happy that I have filled in a lot of the gaps from my previous attempts, I just hope that I have done enough.
I am rolling right into the non stop MCQ stage of my review. With 9 days left, I really cannot spare a moment. I take every opportunity to study. I have been listening to the NINJA Audio while I work, while I drive, while I exercise, well you get it, I listen to it all the time.
The NINJA Notes have been quite handy. Some of the material can be hard to digest when you are reading it straight from the Wiley book. So when I reach a tough topic, I flip to the section in my NINJA Notes and find a succinct, easy to understand description of the topic and then thank Jeff for taking the time to make things easier for me. THANKS JEFF!
Well, now that everyone is caught up with my REG assault, it is time to get back to the Wiley test bank.
Have a great week.
