Hello NINJAs,
I just spent my afternoon on a rematch with REG. I will say that I definitely got down to the last 30 seconds on my time remaining. But I will start at the beginning of my day's adventure.
I had to drive about 40 miles farther than I normally drive because my local test center is now closed. I left for the test center about 2.5 hours before my scheduled arrival time because I wanted to have time to get a small lunch and flip through my review book and NINJA Notes, looking for tidbits of information I may have forgotten.
I arrived in sunny Anaheim, CA with about 2 hours before my test time, so after I picked up lunch at a local drive through, I went back to the test center parking lot, ate and flipped through my materials. After about 90 minutes, I decided to head up to the Prometric suite, and wait to be seated. My timing must have been perfect because I was helped right away and was able to get started much earlier than my scheduled time.
I'm not going to lie. My test was tough. However, I felt prepared and just plowed through the questions. I got fouled up on a couple of the multiple choice questions and lost about 8-10 minutes on the first testlet. I must have answered them correctly though because the second testlet was definitely a harder one.
I made up some time on the second testlet, and am unsure about my performance because the first 3 questions in the 3rd testlet were insanely easy. Maybe I just spent a lot of time on the topics those questions covered, so they seemed easy to me. When I finished the third testlet, I figured this would be a good time to take a break, answer nature's call and get a sip of water.
When I returned, I tackled the simulations. I was surprised at the diversity of topics covered in the simulations. When I got to the last 2 simulations, I had less than 15 minutes left. I was feeling pretty stressed at this point. I hope I did not blow the last 2 because of being rushed.
By the time I checked out of Prometric and headed to the car I realized that I could actually listen to real music in the car on the ride home instead of the NINJA Audio, which I have been listening to on car rides for the last 2 months straight.
The thirty minute drive to Anaheim was easily a 90 minute drive home, because of traffic. I just got into the fast lane, cranked up the music, and thought happy thoughts. I really hope I conquered regulation this time. All this weekend and last week, I was getting low nineties on practice sessions covering all topics. Let's just hope what I did to prepare was enough.
I would like to say that I am going to take a break, but I am already pressuring myself to jump into BEC. I may get my husband to agree to a beach day tomorrow, but once this break is over, I will be getting my nose back in the book!
Have a great week.
