Hey NINJAs!
I come bearing great news: I slayed the FAR beast with a 90!
It’s a great feeling to know that I’ve passed one portion of the exam; however, I understand that more work needs to be done. I hope to have more great news for you all once I receive my AUD score.
I plan to take REG next. I have vague memories of the Tax class I took last year; however, it seems that much of the material covered in my review course was never covered in my college course.
That being said, the material doesn’t come across as overly intimidating right now. Rather, it comes across as more tricky and easy to get lost within if you don’t take time to step back and understand the words you’ve just processed.
I plan use a similar study strategy to the one I used for AUD in terms of solidifying concepts before working large numbers of MCQs. An interesting tidbit is that I’ve given myself much more time to study for REG than what I allocated for FAR. I’m hoping that extra time increases my chances of passing this one on the first try.
Campus life has remained relatively the same since the last time I wrote. Since frigid temperatures have persisted without fail, I’ve become accustomed to wearing plenty of layers each time I leave my apartment. An organization I’m involved with recently hosted a Mardi Gras Potluck, which represented one of the most filling meals I’ve had in a while.
I also participated in a video shoot for the 95th anniversary of a close friend’s favorite professional soccer team. These types of events have reminded me that life presents a vast number of great opportunities to learn, laugh, and grow other than studying for this exam. Furthermore, I hope to strengthen relationships during this last semester that will endure the test of time.
Take care everyone!
Well don't worry if you fail reg the first couple times...It might turn out to be much more difficult for you than FAR! Remember, never give up.
Wow, could you share your study tips... im truly inspired reading your post.. did you use anything else along with ninja material?
Hi Tina, Here's the link to my earlier blog post that describes the study plan I used for FAR: https://www.another71.com/ninja-cpa-blogger-parth-2/. Overall, I think the 2600+ MCQs I did along with rewriting the notes from my review course helped me the most. I use Roger CPA Review along with the TBS bank from Gleim along with the NINJA study aids.
Haha I have no plans to give up at any point, I just think I'd feel rather confused if I all of a sudden started failing parts of this exam.
I knew Roger was a gem. I'm going to try his review program next.
LOL...I was being facetious.
Thank u so much :)
