My name is Isaac and this is my introductory blog as a NINJA.

I started studying for the CPA Exam in the latter part of 2010. During the first year, I received a 69 on BEC, a 73 on AUD, and a 73 on FAR. I used the word “received” because I am a firm believer that you don’t “fail” until you quit. And “quit” is something I will never do.

I’m 28 years old. I have an amazing and supportive wife, and a two-year-old cat that my wife and I love so much. Strangely enough, our cat’s name is … Ninja. No joke. We named him that because when we got him he would hide behind curtains and jump out and attack us as we walked by.

I’m very active in my church and my hobbies include music, golf, and I also read/study special ops stuff (something I’ve been doing since I was a kid).

In October of 2011, I passed FAR with a score of 80. Man, I was so excited. I know this isn’t very tough-guyish, but when I got the letter showing my score I broke down into tears.

Some of you know what I’m talking about. We put so much time and effort into these exams; We give up sooooo much stuff so that we can study. And when we get a passing score, it’s a huge load off of our shoulders.

If you haven’t received a passing score yet, don’t give up. I’m not a very good test-taker. If I can pass, I’m certain you can pass. The difference for me was the Wiley book and the Wiley MCQs. I’m also going to begin utilizing the NINJA study materials.

I’m currently studying for REG. My exam is scheduled for August 30th. Good luck to everyone who is studying and taking exams!
