The journey that has led me to the CPA exam has been a long one, but it’s been rewarding.

I earned my BS in Secondary Education and English about a billion years ago from Eastern Michigan. I taught high school for several years, then realized I pretty much hate 14 year olds, so I had to make a decision.

After taking Accounting 1 at a community college, I decided to get my Master’s degree in Accounting.

Four years, and countless odd jobs later, I completed my degree. Now I am gearing up to earn my CPA license in the state of Michigan. I feel confident that if I put in the hours, I will get the results I want.

I am looking forward to blogging about my experience in the next x amount of months (no jinx) on Another71. I feel this will be a rewarding experience, but also keep me accountable to others. I know if I have to post my scores when I get them that I will be way more likely to study at 5am when the alarm goes off.

Aside from the CPA exam and my job in accounting land, I love playing the drums. I am still going to fit in 30 minutes when I get home from work to play, but after that, back to the grind.
