Hello fellow CPA exam candidates.
My name is Bev and I am currently studying for audit.
I first decided to take the CPA exam in 2009 as a bet from friend. He said that I could not pass so I was on a mission to prove a point.
I signed up for a live review course and spent six Saturdays in a class. I really did not study but I went ahead and registered for REG.
I sat for the exam and when I walked out of the testing center I knew I had failed. Scores came out and sure enough I did not have a passing score.
I studied on and off for the rest of the year but never got around to sitting for any parts. I was working as an internal auditor and there was really no need for me to be a CPA so I put it off and enjoyed life.
Fast forward to 2011.
I decided that I wanted to get into public accounting. I stumbled on a few blogs and found some CPA exam candidates on twitter. I started studying for BEC and got a whopping 74.
I was crushed and once again questioned whether this was something I really wanted to do. I wallowed for a months and kept pushing studying. I decided to start studying for audit which I will be taking in October.
I always struggled with what would be the best method and not to mention I switched from one course to the next. I have tired every course out there for audit.
I have been a member of Another71 for a while and I would read about Jeff's NINJA method. A month ago something finally clicked and I decided to try out the NINJA way of studying.
I am remembering more material and when I have a problem with a concept I read and rewrite the NINJA Notes. Thanks to Jeff, Audit Reports finally make sense to me.
After three years I finally figured out how to study.
Good luck to everyone taking the exam.
