I quit my job. Why?
I felt like I was drowning and did not see any other way out, my grades in school are the worst I have ever been, I was starting my study for the CPA test at 1 am and I never got to see my family.
So, I reprioritized my life and that was the one thing I could give up. Does that mean that I didnt need my job? No.
I really did need that income, but I can get by with cutting back here and there, and may have to dig into our savings a bit, but we can manage until after December with me not working.
How did I come to the conclusion that work was what needed to go? I listed all my current activities and their priority:
1. Family
2. School
3. CPA test
4. Work
5. Trying to find a full time accounting job after finishing the educations requirements
While number 5 should have been the one that I marked off the list, it was such a small amount of time and stress that related to it, that I went with one above it. It took a few weeks and much thought for me to give up a job that I really liked and was flexible with school, but I just had to do it.
So far it has been better, except that I havent studied for over a week and I feel that I am letting Roger from Roger CPA Review down. But right now, I have to get my life in order to make sure that I am in a place where I can concentrate on the CPA Exam.
I dont think I am there right now and I have scheduled to sit for the CPA in Less than 3 weeks. Need to figure out what I am going to do. Will let you know as soon as I decide.
