I hope everyones studying sessions are going well. This testing window I said to myself enough is enough. I have a schedule and Im sticking to it. With 3 exams in one window, I dont really have time to slack.
With me losing credits to 2 exams and facing to lose BEC at the end of September, I started thinking.
I looked back to 2009 2010, when I passed REG, FAR, and BEC. I said to myself, what did I do differently then, that Im not doing now? I remembered spending countless hours doing an insane amount of MCQs. Taking my time reviewing the answers, why was that the right answer and why were the others wrong?
That must be it!! Ive been getting away from my countless hours of studying and doing other things. I dont know if it was guilt, of not doing much with my family then or what. So now this is what I do. I get up at 5am and study for 1 to 2 hours, if I dont hit the snooze too many times. During lunch at work I study for about 1 hour, and lastly at home I study about 1 to 2 hours each night, usually when the girls are almost ready for bed.
Thats my Monday through Friday schedule. Sticking with that schedule, Ive already logged in 16 hours this week since Monday (its Friday afternoon now). I probably would have gotten in more if I didnt sleep in 2 mornings, and went to bed early one evening. Sometimes it doesnt matter how much caffeine you have.
For the weekends, it depends on whats going on. I usually try to get up early. I keep my alarm set for 5am and get a few hours in before everyone gets up. Then if we have something going on, like someones birthday party, I usually try to schedule more studying time during the week so I can free up my weekend. I try not to attend too many functions right now. I tell everyone, I cant right now. I have a date with Roger CPA Review.
Im really enjoying watching Rogers videos. With REG coming up on August 9, I dont watch as many of Rogers lectures as I should. My plan is to get all of his videos watched by the time I sit for REG. Then I can give my 100% to FAR. I just hope that wont hurt me instead of helping me.
Watching his lectures has refreshed my memory with FAR but has also taught me some things I dont really remember with Becker. Ive picked up some additional information with inventory that either I dont remember with Becker or I never really understood fully.
Well its time for me to go hit some countless MCQs.
Till next time!!
JoMarie
