Ive been contemplating what to blog about this week. After the score release I think Ive thought of a topic we can all relate to, motivation and confidence.
I know these topics all too well. Going through this journey has really tested my motivation and confidence in myself. Back in 2008, when I told myself Thats it, youre going to chase your dream, JoMarie!! my motivation and confidence were sky high. I passed three exams within one year, and then I told myself, The last one will come easy, fate wont take away the three I passed.
Well I was wrong!! At the same time my motivation and confidence went out the door. This past summer, when I sat for three exams in one testing window my motivation and confidence came back stronger than ever.
My boss just said to me this morning, Ive never seen you this confident in yourself with this exam. Keep it up!! Honestly, Ive never been this confident in myself in passing this beast. My husband has called it an obsession. I told him, Well its a good obsession.
Its not easy to keep up with the motivation when Im playing single mom during the week. My husband is currently working two hours away. With the crazy traffic of a big city like Toronto, he wouldnt be coming home till its time for bed, only to turn around and go back. So we decided that it would be best to stay near this job site during the week.
This has been a real test on my motivation. Ive been trying to practice Jeffs ELL plan, but it hasnt been easy. My studying has been mainly after the girls go to bed till I cant keep my eyes open any longer. Some mornings, when Im not too exhausted, I wake up early and try to get in a few Roger CPA Review lectures.
During my lunch at work, I log onto Wileys test bank and practice a few MCQs. On the weekends, I lock myself in my room and study for hours. Thats my makeup time for the lost time during the week.
My FAR exam is actually three weeks away now, so Im planning on finishing up watching Roger lectures this coming week, then doing tons and tons of MCQs, reading over Jeffs NINJA notes, and listening to Yeagers audio lectures on my drive to and from work.
I hoping my motivation and confidence dont die out. My personal goal is to have all my exams taken and hopefully passed by this coming tax season.
Congratulations to those who have received passing scores. To those who didnt, dont give up!! Keep up with the good work, and lets chase our dream together!!!
Till next week!!
